What does the term Age of Aquarius mean?
Due to the precession of the equinoxes, the Sun enters into a new ‘vernal’ equinox every 2160 years. The Sun is currently in the Sign of Pisces, rising yearly into this constellation on the event of the Spring Equinox and thus we find ourselves in the ages of Pisces. The Sun will not enter into another Vernal Equinox until the year 2377, however as the Sun gets nearer and nearer to the Pisces / Aquarius cusp we should be able to see some of the effects of this new age, hence the term the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius. This is a careful term as much controversy surrounds the calculations of the astrological ages, the Age of Aquarius or at least its influences could then begin as early as 2060 or 2100 or as late as 2377. Pisces, an age of technology and advance will give way eventually to Aquarius, a age of brotherhood and harmony.
