What does the temperature rating on sleeping bags mean?

0

It is meant to indicate the low temperature at which sleeping will still be comfortable. For most summertime campouts a 30+ is usually fine(30 degrees Fahrenheit). They make sleeping bags -20 or more, but that’s usually too cold for families so you really don’t need one that heavy.
