What does the story of noahs ark really teach us?
1. Many of the older Catholic churches were built in the shape of an ark — interiorly. The ark saved the righteous people from the great flood as does the Catholic Church today 2. Only a few were worthy to be on the ark: Noah, his wife, their 3 sons and their wives — 8 in all — God is mindful of the remnant that remains and favors them. 3. Noah obeyed God to build the ark through faith. It took years to build and then supply it — no doubt he was ridiculed by others for such an undertaking 4. The flood symbolizes baptism 5. There is no recorded incident of any of the animals attacking any of the others even though some were natural enemies….so why can’t we humans live in harmony with even our enemies?
