What does the specification, coefficient of performance (COP), mean?
Coefficient of performance is an indicator of the efficiency of a thermoelectric cooling (or heating) system. It is essentially the ratio of: • the heat pumped by a TE module (in watts), and • the amount of power supplied to the TE device. Put mathematically, COP = Q / (VTE * ITE) where Q is the number of watts pumped, and VTE and ITE are the voltage and current supplied to the thermoelectric module.
