What does the song Reckoner by Radiohead mean?
Wow, I was just pondering the same question … Reckoner is a difficult song to decipher. As with most great songs, one could find many meanings in them – all depending on the perspective or angle one approaches it from. “Because we separate – Ripples on a black shore”, for example. This could refer to how people are fundamentally programmed to believe they are different i.e. short vs. tall, smart vs. dumb, white vs. black, etc, but in the end we are one “black shore” or simply one doomed being/planet.
