What does the song lipgloss and black by atreyu mean?
My personal opinion is that it is about him and his girl, she is “lipgloss” and he is “black” metaphorically, and about how their relationship isn’t working and all they do is hurt each other and I’m pretty sure the video is a commentary on how most couples, when they fight, passive aggressively hurt each other, which is what the whole smoking thing is about giving each other something that is harmful but not actually harming them per se, then it escalates into full on aggression, the slapping and bottle smashing. As in they are displaying physically and metaphorically what couples do to each other emotionally. How a fight escalates into full blown chaos at times. Also I believe the whole rewinding of the scene is to metaphorically insinuate that after a fight, you wish you could take it all back ie. “rewind” the whole mess.
