The way i think of it is that he is depressed, and thinking about suicide. Because his life got out of control and he feels theres nothing he can do about it.What he wants to do is leave and never come back, but he is to afraid to start over. And if he doesn’t get better soon, he won’t be able to handle any of it. He wishes he was stronger, so he could get past this time of sadness and fear and move on with his life. Now, as he stays in his spot with no where to turn, he hears people giving him warnings and advice but not being able to take it. Like whales in the water, you can’t interpret there singing. And now everything he has feared has come true and its overpowering him. And the last bit of hope he had was diminished. Now he’s looking for a reason not to end his life. For someone to just say stop and save him and make everything better. But everyone that he lost during his depression won’t come back and save him now, so he’s alone.
