What does the song hallelujah mean?
Such a well written song by Leonard but Jeff Buckley’s version is incredible. I believe this song has biblical references along with commentaries about love. “You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you” *This line refers to Batsheva…who I believe was supposedly a very desirable woman in the bible. It’s about love, possibly combined with lust. By reading the lyrics, it is an intense feeling, a profound love. But I also sense that there is some loss. I get the feeling that he is in love with someone who he will never have back.
