What does the Scott Wilson report say?
The Scott Wilson report identifies 85 possible sites for Gypsies and Travellers in South and West Hertfordshire. It identifies 21 areas in Hertsmere where new sites could possibly be located and from this six sites have been given their highest scoring of 1. These sites are: • Hilfield Lane South (eastern side), Bushey • Land adjacent to Elstree Recycling Centre, Allum Lane, Elstree • Land opposite the Elstree Recycling Centre, Allum Lane, Elstree • Swanland Road, Potters Bar – close to the A1 • Southgate Road, Potters Bar – near Junction 24 on the M25 • Baker Street, Potters Bar – abutting the M25 These sites are Scott Wilson’s recommendations and are in no way endorsed by the council. We will be carrying out our own assessment of potential sites.
