What Does the Rotary Club of Plymouth do with the Duck Race Money?
The proceeds from the Rotary Club of Plymouth Annual Ducks on Parade fundraiser support youth and education in our community. In the previous eight years we have raised a total over $220,000; donations have been given to many local schools and organizations that support youth and education, including scholarships for gifted students who are Plymouth residents and the STRIVE program (a mentoring program for Wayzata High School seniors). Additionally, we are supporting a program in Senegal, Africa called Project Safety Nets which supplies mosquito netting to prevent malaria. More than 3000 children per day or over 1,000,000 children die each year from malaria and mosquito netting is the most important defense against infection from mosquito bites.
