What does the PTCB exam consist of?
The 125 question PTCB exam consist of the following: 64% Assisting the Pharmacist in Serving Patients- this is where your newfound knowledge of pharmaceutics, pharmacy math, law and ethics, sterile compounding, body-systems drugs, prescription processes, medical and pharmacy abbreviations, dealing with controlled substances, retail and institutional pharmacy topics, etc., comes into play. 11% Inventory Management- this section covers the different methods used to track and order inventory for the pharmacy. 25% Participating in the Administration and Management of the Pharmacy Practice- Here is where you’ll show knowledge of pharmacy management-both retail and institutional, patient care, pharmacy business math, etc. You must obtain a score of 650 out of 900 in order to pass. The PTCB will notify you on your scores.
