What does the provider limit/allotment number mean? Why is there a need to limit enrollment into the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)?
• While it is estimated that there are over 40,000 women who are eligible for BCCP services in Oregon, the program only has funding to support screening for approximately 7,000 each year. • In order for the BCCP to stay within budget, each BCCP provider has an enrollment allotment. The allotment number is the number of clients that can be enrolled at any one site during a BCCP fiscal year. • Regardless of the services a client may receive, from screening to a full diagnostic work-up, each client counts as one enrollment per year. The clients can be new clients or clients that are returning from last year. • The BCCP fiscal year is July 1 through June 30. • The BCCP cannot guarantee reimbursement for enrollments beyond the assigned number.> It is very important for providers to stay within the allotted enrollment number.
