What does the outfield look like when Cruz comes back next week seeing as how there is no DH?
Nelson Cruz felt some soreness while running the bases today and it has been deemed a minor setback. The plan now is for Cruz to go on the road with the Rangers and work out Friday and Saturday. If that goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment early next week. It does not appear, however, that Cruz will be back on Tuesday when the Rangers got to Florida. The current plan is to play Vladimir Guerrero in let field Friday and Sunday in Milwaukee, Tuesday and Thursday in Florida and Saturday in Houston. It is possible Ron Washington might consider using Guerrero in back-to-back games in the outfield at the end of the trip. But he’s said he does not want to start Guerrero in consecutive games in the outfield. Without Cruz, you are looking at Hamilton (L), Borbon (C) and Guerrero (R). On the nights Guerrero doesn’t play, it would probably go Hamilton-Borbon-Murphy. And if Cruz comes back, you could go Cruz in left, Hamilton in center and Guerrero in right if you wanted to get them all in
