What does the Nursing Math Entrance Exam cover?
After completing the math placement requirement, students must take and pass the Nursing Math Entrance Exam. This exam tests the basic math skills required to safely administer medications – decimals, fractions, percentages, etc. The exam is comprised of 30 questions divided into three 10 question sections, and students must pass each section with at least 8 correct answers of the 10. This test must also be successfully completed within two years prior to matriculation in Nursing. Four attempts will be allowed. Are there study guides for the math exams? Student Central has review sheets for the Nursing Math Entrance Exam. They are also available online at www.sunyocc.edu/testing. What if I don’t score high enough on the Nursing Math Entrance Exam? Students, who do not score 80% in all sections of the Nursing Math Entrance Exam, need to complete remedial work in Math Diagnostics and retest until 80% is achieved.
