CA-125 stands for cancer antigen 125. It’s a protein marker used to diagnose ovarian cancer. The normal levels for most patients is 35 units/ml. It does not give a definite answer to whether or not a person has ovarian cancer. The physician has to perform other tests to diagnose ovarian cancer. There are other conditions that can cause an elevation in CA125 levels. Some people have high levels but it’s a normal level for them.
