What does the New Testament teach us concerning our Lords offering for sin?
The New Testament teaches in Hebrews 10:11-15: ‘And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins. But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God. From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.’ Hebrews 7:24-25: ‘But this man, because He continueth ever, hath unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.’ Hebrews 9:22-26: ‘And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
