What does the new rule do to protect CMV drivers privacy?
The final rule does not change the requirements for who must comply with HOS rules. It does not require any additional information from EOBRs concerning drivers’ activities and the location of such activities that are beyond the scope of the HOS rules. And, as is the case with other HOS records, only EOBR records showing violations would be retained by safety enforcement officials.
