What does the name “Sceptre” mean?
“Sceptre” means the royal ornament of sovereignty only associated with kings. So when you say “sceptre”, it has to be something royal and belong to kings and emperors. We were looking for a royal name, so Sceptre was unanimous. Who are your major influences? There are a lot of bands that influence us, but amongst the common ones are Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Sepultura. It’s basically the ’90s music that influences us the most. Tell us about your experience at Independence Rock? Independence Rock is the biggest stage for any rock band in India. I-Rock is one institution which guarantees 3,000 to 4,000 people who come together every year to enjoy pure, unadulterated rock music. Basically, all rock bands look forward to performing at I-Rock. Why do you think it’s important to support an animal protection group like PETA? We support PETA purely because we love animals. I have always grown up with animals. My dog is named after a famous rock star – a guitarist from the band named
