What does the music industry think of country teen singers?
Alecia: I think they think it’s cool. I think at first they were a bit scared, only because the singers are so young, that they might change their minds once the labels have put a lot of money and time and effort into them. But since LeAnn Rimes got out there at 13 and proved to them that that wasn’t going to happen, that there are young people out there who actually know what they want to do. I think she did that and made it so much easier for the rest of us. I think they really are taking us seriously now. Country music is going through a lot of changes right now, it almost seems to have a pop sound.
