What Does The Monroe Doctrine Mean?
In the term ‘Monroe Doctrine’ the word Monroe is used as an adjective and it signifies the name of the former US president James Monroe. So it is obvious that it is a kind of doctrine that was stated during the period of President Monroe. The doctrine was declared first by the president James Monroe in the year 1823 and it proclaimed that no European nation can colonize or interfere in the affairs of the United States of America. The US itself would stay neutral with any kind of war that was to happen with a European country to that of any of its colonies but if they took the war to the American soil, the nation would view that as a hostile attitude and would answer that accordingly.
