What Does the Map Legend Mean?
Record Dry indicates that the accumulated precipitation is lower than any value in the historic record. Extremely Low (0 to 10th percentile) indicates the precipitation accumulation equals the lowest or is equal to or less than the lowest 10% of the values in the historical record. The precipitation for the current period matches the lowest precipitation conditions or the lowest that occurs 10 times in every 100 years. Very Low (10th to 20th) indicates the precipitation accumulation is greater than the lowest 10% and less than or equal to the lowest 20% of the values in the historical record. The precipitation for the current period matches the lowest precipitation conditions that occurs on average 10 to 20 times in every 100 years. Low (20th to 40th percentile) indicates the precipitation accumulation is greater than the lowest 20% and less than or equal to the lowest 40% of the values in the historical record.
