What does the loop around the data wires on the wiring diagram for my unit mean?
A. Older revisions of the 2000/2010/17N Installation Guide and several manuals for older chartplotters depicted a loop around the data wires leading to/from these units. Those loops simply indicate that the data wires are internally grounded and that it is not necessary to attach them to the black ground wire.
