What does the Lewis College of Business do to help freshmen stay on track for graduation?
Advising services are certainly among the most valuable efforts. One of the most important activities in which you should engage is interaction with an academic advisor. The LCOB has mandatory advising for freshmen and during your Junior year, a Junior/Senior evaluation is completed to let you know your remaining requirements. You should take advantage of the opportunity to speak with an academic advisor to schedule classes and chart progress toward a degree. Marshall also has many retention measures in place as part of our Freshman Year Experience program. Many of these are designed to keep you in good standing and on-track for graduation. These include: UNI and HON 101. This is New Student Seminar, a one-credit course required of all students. It is graded CR/NC (credit or no credit) and you must receive a grade of CR to fulfill the requirement.
