The LEGO Group does not endorse or officially authorize LDraw and its related tools however it is aware of it and sees it as a valuable accessory for LEGO fans. The official Lego Digital Designer CAD software can read and write LDraw files (as of version 1.6) and discussions are underway (as of Mar 2007) to improve inter-compatibility.
