What does the Josephine County Commission for Children and Families do?
The Josephine County Commission for Children and Families plans, advocates, and stimulates the community to act on behalf of children, youth and families, promoting their health, safety, and well being. In addition, Josephine County Commission for Children and Families manages state and federal grant funds that come to Josephine County through the State Commission on Children and Families Act. What is the time commitment? Each Josephine County Commission for Children and Families’ member average five volunteer hours per month. They attend monthly commission meetings and committee meetings, research issues, and work on special projects such as organizing community discussion groups, visiting programs, making presentations to community civic groups, and participate in statewide work groups.
