What does the Instant sub-type Trap mean in Magic: the Gathering?
Traps (which WotC is currently getting sued over by the makers of YuGiOh) are just cards which have a lower mana cost or stronger effect when played in response to a specific action. So for example, you might have a basic Counterspell that costs 2 Blue and 3 colorless normally, but has a trap effect that allows it to be played for just a single Blue mana if being played in response to an opponent playing a spell that counters one of your spells. The basic effect, mana cost, and having al alternate use matches up with Tramatic Visions, and while this card’s effect is cheaper and more powerful in it’s effect than TV’s, it is much more situational, so it fits.
