What does the IAFF/IFCA Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) involve?
The IAFF/IFCA Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) is a standardized test that mimics the essential and critical tasks of the job. CPAT is a timed, PASS/FAIL test. It consists of eight (8) job related tasks that are performed in a continuous sequence. Candidates must complete the course in 10 minutes and 20 seconds or less. Candidates would complete the CPAT through the Chippewa Valley Technical College Fire Service Education and Training Division. This phase of the entrance process will test your strength, stamina, endurance, agility, and ability to follow directions, to accomplish specific tasks within a prescribed time limit.
