http is hyper text transfer protocol and describes the “language” that the communication is in. others might be FTP for file transfer protocol etc. The www is just the first part of the address and can be www2 or news or lots of others it doesn’t really matter to the web page anymore than if I change my house number from 7 to “rose cottage” – same house, same place – postman can still find it just a different way to get to it.
