What does the Hitcher Remake add to the original?
Well, in a word, not much at all. The story has one minor twist. It is now a couple, a young man Jim Halsey (Zachary Knighton) and his girlfriend Grace (Sophia Bush) go on the road trip together. Almost every plot twist in this movie I saw coming, because it was the same as it was in the original. When I saw it the first time, I thought Oh my God, NO!. The second time I saw it, I was thinking Oh couldn’t they have changed the plot to surprise me?. The answer is no right down to the final scene. I brought my son with me who had never seen the movie. He was mildy interested, but he wasn’t the least bit scared. He didn’t seem terribly fascinated with the film either.
