What does the flower mean on New Moon?
There are many theories on this. One is that the petal that fell off the flower is the drop of blood from the paper cut Bella got at her party before Jasper lunged at her prompting the Cullens to leave, and the blossoming flower is her blossoming relationship with Jacob. Another theory is that the flower is wilting which means Bella is dying inside because Edward left. I went searching for this at Stephenie Meyer’s website, she had no control over the cover, it was somthing that the publishing company did, but the name New Moon is because a new moon is the darkest of dark nights and the events in New Moon were the darkest times in Bella’s life.
