What does the fan mod do?
The fan mod is consider by us, as a highly crucial part of a red ring repair. Normal Xbox 360 fans run anywhere from 5 volts to 12 volts at full speed. By rewiring your fan, the fans will constantly will run at max speed. How is this good? When an Xbox is running and heating up, it only speeds up the fans at certain temperature points. Therefore, by the time your Xbox gets hot enough to possible red ring or cause damage, the fans have kicked in too late. By running constant 12 volts, the system runs cooler constantly. We’ve tested this and came up with incredible results. The components that get the hottest are the Graphics chip, the processor, and the co-graphics processor. The CPU temperature decreased 30 degrees F, the Graphics chip by 22 degrees F, and the co-graphics went down by 6 degrees F. This was measured with a laser temp reader, and at room temperature.
