In the recent years, the European Commission has decided to make Science Shop development one of the key-actions in DG Research’s Science and Society policy. The EU has financed two studies on Science Shops (SCIPAS and Interacts) and financed the project Improving Science Shop Networking (ISSNET) from 2003 till 2005. ISSNET facilitated the establishment of the International Science Shop Network ‘Living Knowledge’. In the 6th Framework Program, Science Shops are supported further.
