WHAT DOES THE EGG DONATION PROCESS ENTAIL?

A. Once you have been screened and selected for our donor database, your profile will be viewed by intended parents on the PEDI secure website. If an intended parent selects you, you will go to a medical evaluation in which a physician and a psychologist determine your overall health and suitability for the donation procedure. The physician will prescribe hormone medication for approximately three weeks which you will take under the doctor’s care. You will then be scheduled for an out-patient procedure in which the eggs will be retrieved from your ovaries. The procedure is done in a doctor’s office using a light sedative. Most egg donors are able to return to school or work the following day.
