What does the Department of Health and Senior Services do with the information?
The Department of Health and Senior Services maintains Missouri’s Organ and Tissue Donor Registry information on a secure site. In Spring 2009, the Department will be adding the following features to the registry: ability for you to obtain a user ID and password, list which organs and tissues you want to donate, specify limitations of your gift, and to notify family and friends of your decision. The Department may periodically send out information to participants as it relates to organ and tissue donation or the registry itself. Therefore, a correct e-mail address is encouraged so that you receive timely notification of any updates. The Department also uses the data to produce aggregate reports. No personal information is published. At the time of your death, an authorized healthcare professional will search the registry for your donor status.
