What does the demise of Kodachrome film mean for converting…and coating and laminating in particular?
It lived a long and busy life, but Kodak’s world-famous color print film has officially been retired after 74 years. Used by millions photographers—amateur and professional—to shoot untold trillions of images, the film’s passing shouldn’t come as a surprise with the market making its seemingly irreversible shift toward digital. It makes you wonder how many more products that require coating and laminating may become extinct in the coming decade. On the plus side, how many new products will be invented solely because coating and laminating make them possible? Send your thoughts to mspaulding@reedbusiness.
