What does the current water-withdrawal law say about farm ponds?
The current law does not include farm ponds in its definition of surface waters, so long as they are contained entirely within a single persons property. Property owners with farm ponds therefore do not have to obtain a withdrawal permit to make use of such ponds. The Georgia Water Coalition does not seek to change this law.
