What does the Consistency Section of Interagency Affairs do?
The Consistency Section is responsible for regulating federal and private projects, in order to protect wetlands and other sensitive coastal features, under the Coastal Zone Management Act and Louisiana’s State and Local Coastal Resources Management Act. The Consistency Section reviews applications for federal activities and certain types of private projects that are exempt from Coastal Use Permits. This review process is to ensure that these activities maintain consistency with the Louisiana Coastal Resources Program.
