What does the Complementary and Integrative Medicine Consult Service do?
The Complementary and Integrative Medicine Consult Service offers: • Clinical consultation to NIH Clinical Center staff on CAM approaches from the areas or domains of CAM • Consultation to NIH Clinical Center staff on issues of botanical/drug interactions • A lecture series for NIH Clinical Center staff on CAM and Integrative Medicine • Support and guidance on credentialing issues of CAM practitioners to the NIH Clinical Center The Complementary and Integrative Medicine Consult Service is also developing and building a research program to establish and implement research tools and outcome parameters to advance the understanding and evidence base for the complementary use of botanicals, mind-body approaches, and manipulative/body-based techniques in clinical medicine.
