What does the Community Cohesion team do?
• Research need and develop policy to ensure our resources are targeted to promoting community cohesion • Advise other parts of the Council about Nottingham’s diverse communities and their needs • Work across the city with groups who form based on a shared sense of identity and who fall into one of the six equality strands: Disability, Age, Faith, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality. • Research and work with new and emerging communities in Nottingham (for example, migrants from Poland and the Czech Republic) • Research and work with Nottingham’s Muslim communities • Provide a single route to access recurring grants and one off funding pots provided by the Council to voluntary groups.
