What does the Chip Seal Project consist of?
Between 6 and 7 miles of streets are prepared each year by cutting out and replacing deteriorated areas of asphalt and in some areas a surface skin patch is installed as a leveling course. Usually at the end of August each year it takes approximately one week to install the oil and chips (3/8″ gravel). This process seals the surface of the asphalt and provides an improved wearing surface.
