What does the Child Bereavement Charity do?
• The Child Bereavement Charity is the UK’s leading charity that supports families and educates professionals both when a child dies and when a child is bereaved. Every year we train circa 5,000 professionals across health care, social care, education and the emergency services. We also provide a support and information service, award-winning resources, online forums and Buckinghamshire-based bereavement service. • The charity receives 2,000 calls per year relating to an estimated 5,000 children. • The charity reaches tens of thousands of families through its training programmes with schools and bereavement professionals. • The charity provides direct bereavement support to approximately 275 adults and children per annum at its Buckinghamshire-based family bereavement support service, through group and 1:1 sessions. • The Child Bereavement Charity learns continuously from the children and parents it works with, leading the way in improving the quality of support offered by professional
