What does ” the chickens always come home to roost, and the salmon always return home to spawn.” mean ?
i would say it was to do with your roots – you may go out into the world and try new things out, but when it comes time to settle down and set up home and have your kids, well then you come back to what you know best, no matter how much you rejected it in your younger years An example of this would be sending your children to a catholic school when you don’t really believe, because that is what you had yourself and that is what you want for your kids.
