What does the c stand for on some nfl jerseys?
The C stands for Captain. The NFL decided this year that the head coaches had to name offensive and defensive captains. Their hope was to make it easier for the young guys on the team to know who to go to with concerns or general questions. I think it is a good idea except that it usually just goes to the biggest name on the team and not necessarily the best leader.
