What Does the Bible Say About Deliverance From, and Overcoming Addictions?

First off, God has given each of us a free will and it is for the most part by our own choice that we give ourselves to these things, subject ourselves to bad habits and addictions. Romans 6:16-18 says, Dont you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive His approval. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you have obeyed with all your heart the new teaching God has given you. Now you are free from sin, your old master, and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness. This passage of Scripture tells us that if we submit ourselves to our new master, Jesus Christ, we will have the power to control ourselves and avoid sinful behaviors – and give us the strength to break o
