What does the average painter charge per hour, in Canada??
First off, most house painters, interior or exterior, don’t charge or ‘bid’ jobs by the hour. At least not here in the United States and I’m pretty sure it’s the same in Canada. Professional house painters will give you a ‘bid’, an estimate for the whole job that you want done. The bid factors in wages, travel time and building materials (paint, drop cloths, etc.) as a single price. This is pretty much the same way it’s done across the board for all types of remodeling. What you could do is contact some local professional painters (through the yellow pages or ads in newspapers) and get several bids from different painters. Also make sure you get recommendations from the painter and call some of those recommendations to validate how happy the painter’s other clients were with his service.
