No, the accuracy of the speed sensor does not depend on the location of the magnet along the radius of the wheel.The magnet only determines the number of revolutions, which is the same when measured at any point along the radius of the wheel. After you calibrate the computer with the circumference measurement of your tire, the computer will automatically use your tire circumference and the number of revolutions to determine speed. However, please make sure the distance between the wireless speed sensor and the head unit is within 24 inches.
