What does the (6th amendment:right to confront witness) allows and does not allow?
the actual text is: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence. the clause you mention means that if someone is a witness against you, they testify while you are present and your counsel can cross-examine that witness. The fact-finder decides if the wtiness’ testimony is credible. In rare cases, such as undercover police in high-profile cases, the witness might be disguised or even shielded from view, but he is still available for cross.
