What does that Arabic tattoo on Corries Kim Ryder translate as?
Well first of all the tattoos are in Arabic. If you want a closer look at them, check out this site (see reference #1): http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoo/celeb-marsh.htm Second of all, they do have a transliterated meaning; I have read they are indeed the names of her children (from some site, see reference #2). From my study of Arabic when I was a kid (which is very rusty), the writing is a transliteration (meaning how you would pronounce something from another language; for example, in Spanish, you would say Jesus as Hayzues; hence the English transliteration is Hayzues). The tattoos transliterated First shoulder tattoo (top-most): Actual letters in Arabic: Dal, Alif, Fa, Ya, Dal Phenetically (pronouced): D, A, F, EE,D; as in David, or Dafid. Second shoulder tattoo: Actual letters in Arabic: Ein, Meem, Ya, Lam, Ya The phenetical letters appear to be: Ah, M, EE, L, EE; assumably Emily. Possibly someone can confirm what I am seeing.
