This was selected as Best Answer Hi Vadan, A Flat Architecture usually means either moving to an IP Packet Based infrastructure and/or lowering the component count of the architecture. For example, instead of having a Base Station, RNC, Serving General GPRS Support Node (SGSN) and a Gateway GPRS Support Node, you could instead have just a Base Station and a Access Gateway (a-GW).
