What does t take to become a financial analyst?

My recommendation is to in either an accounting department or finance department. You need to get expereince in financial transactions, i.e. general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets. Typically financial analysts are called upon to explain variances in product lines, revenue/expense accounts or balance accounts. You will first need to understand the underlying transactions which make up these accounts. Keep in mind entry level financial analysts can be performing some pretty basic stuff. Companies are looking for new employees with lttle or no expereince that they can groom and that exhibit potential. I would work on your basic financial accumen and you should be OK, Good luck!
